Good afternoon folks
wink.gif

This FRAM pro synthetic 3614 filter was off of my 2009 Toyota Camry with "clearance oil" of Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 euro L. I know I'll get a tongue lashing for using the filter for only 4,200 miles; oh well. Wanted to see if more of the fine carbon stuff was coming out which it seems isn't much of it. Filter made November 21, 2015 also

Put a frankenbrew of Rotella straight 30w, Quaker State Conventional SAE 30 and some DELO XLE 10w30 in along with a FL-910S filter

Enjoy the pics

Yes, I was surprised myself. Drained oil while it was hot yesterday afternoon.

Is the Pro Synthetic a "commercial" version of the Ultra? Looks to be well built but the name is different.

I tried that, ended up destroying the media as this is one tough filter

Well I see you are set for summer driving.

I think the Fram Ultra/FPS are starting to get like WIx/NAPA Gold posts. Just nothing exciting to see except a good filter.

AS for the interval, it sure was short. And with the FL-910S, I know those have not shown any problems (that I have seen) like the 820S and 400S, but I just can't make myself use any Mototcraft filter anymore.
I can't say I won't use any Purolator made filter since I have 5 Bosch Distance + filters in my stash, but the D+ is probably the only Puro filter I will use unless things change.

4200 miles? You should be hung, drawn & quartered!

That being said, looks good! Fram have really stepped up their game over the last several years.

Puck......The filter was "hung" to empty.....A cut line "drawn" on.....And filter was kinda "quartered"

Yeah, I have some faith in MC filters like the 400S and 910S

After one or two 5k oci's, I'll put on the Bosch Dostance + or WIX or maybe Baldwin

I always feel better about my little stash of filters when I hear of yours, but you change a lot more oil than I do.
I service my 2 vehicles full time (3-4 changes a year).
I plan on doing my mom's car from now on (once a year or so with a cartridge filter), and my do my sister's SUV on her husbands truck every so often.

Heck I have had to stoop to taking old, used, unknown status filters from the recycle bin at the parts store to even cut 1/3 of what you do.

It's nice having lots of friends and using the "barter system"

OCI for my Camry per owner manual is 5k and I don't know if my engine is hard or easy on oil hence the 4,200 OCI this time. Stash is about gone so thinking of Maxlife Syn 5w30 or Mobil 1 0w30

I just bought 2 jugs of Mobil 1 5w30 from Walmart.
With the rebate going on now, It will be $26 for 10 qts of Mobil 1.
I may get my mom to buy 2 more, and my sister 2 more...

I am down to "only" 50 qts of oil right now (60 once the Mobil 1 comes in) and I think 9 filters total.

My truck uses 9 qts of oil per oil change. 6qts for the change, then a top off qt every 1500 miles. I use the "old oil" drained out of the Scion for the top off oil. That gets me to around 6000 miles (unless it has been more than 8 months, then i change it then).
