This is the final oil filter that was on my Toyota Yaris 100 mile daily driver that got totaled in the rear by a large semi truck in the fast lane earlier this month.
Its quite unfortunate I wasn't be able to run this filter long enough to get the oil sampled for analysis as I had some running experiments with the magnets. Needless to say the magnets did its job quite well visually. The oil it was running was HPL SuperCar 5W-40, nothing else to say, everything looks clean on the inside...

Holy magnets batman....

There is something fundamentally wrong about running "SuperCar" in a Yaris (exceptions given to GR Yaris) .

Why because of CAFE?

We had very hot summer heat of 115 degrees this year, running 5w40 was a good choice for a car that is driven spirited on daily long distance commutes. Too bad this ended too soon as i was curious to see the UOA when it reached 10k on HPL SuperCar.

Because no one I know would consider a Yaris a "SuperCar" but it was a joke anyway...

Any HPL oil can be considered “Super Car” when compared to shelf stock oil.

She's got a ruffles style leaf spring. The ferrous material the magnets captured goes to show how much rubbing metal-on-metal wear there is going on, even with "Supecar" 5W-40 oil. Just think if it was a bottom shelf xW-20 or xW-16.

I dig all the magnets on the outside of the can but not the magnets on the baseplate. I'd not want to build up debris on the underside of the ADBV as that could interfere with its seal. Very good pics. That Yota was spoiled.

Happy to hear no filter casualties in the accident though.

Listen Captain one eye; I want magnets on filter. Don’t want metal dwarf touching internals. To each their own

Just bought another 2 days ago, XP90 3 door 2011 year model.

My 2012 Belta Yaris got rear ended it was a Total loss, truck driver was untrainned foriegner and was driving a large truck in the fast lane.

Why so many magnet lol

Because i wanted to do some UOA experiments.
