2024 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L. 16.1k ODO, 6.3k on filter with AMSOIL Signature Series 0w40. I got lucky with very faint if not cosmetic ruffles. Soot wiped right off the inside of the can.

The FE media looks fine. Bypass seal area, without flashlight test can't say 100%, but ridges would at least indicate possibility of a poor seal. Maybe not, but shouldn't even have to consider it. Fwiw, agree with your decision.

Thanks for c&p.

why would they not put a gasket there.........
Costs money and more manufacturing effort. As you probably know, Fram also removed the leaf spring gasket from the Ultra when First Brands started cutting corners and changing the Fram filters. If they could actually stamp a flat smooth leaf spring like they use to it wouldn't be an issue.

Fram will only stand behind their filters if it is the correct filter for the application. Your truck is probably spec-ed for FE10060. The shorter version. So if the longer filter explodes driving down the highway, Fram is not standing behind it. Also, Fram no longer lists their specs on their web site. You need to contract their tech support dept. Fram does make filters for alot of the OEM's, including GM. So I am ok using the FE series with the 22psi rating.

I noticed too a day or two ago. Wonder what the reason is for that? Maybe they are going to change everything up in some drastic way.

I think enough of us have to contact fram, and ask for specs. Only then they will reconsider to post their specs. I remember when they had the PSI rating, and the dimensions of each filter. They have very good response to their technical support line.
