FRAM extra life filters

are this filters any good?, im between this one and a regular BOSCH,any ideas?

I think fram makes a good air filter, i just wouldn't
buy a oil filter if my life depended on it.

Fram air filters seem fine to me. They seem to have lots of pleats and usually have the metal screen that strengthens them. The extra life filters have a possibly better yellow media and a few more pleats.

Plus the extra guard(yellow media)has an oil coating to help with dirt.

Take a good look, some apear to be fine, others apear to have defects and sloppy seals. Also look at the number of pleats. At least with an air filter you can look at what your getting. I have not seen any tests showing how well they filter, but I'd say it's safe to say they're close to other paper filters.

One more thing, if you have a special application with a non-paper filter(some imports) I've seen Fram cheap out and substitute a paper element.

I counted the pleats on filters to fit a nissan. The air hog had 30, the standard fram had 71, and the extra guard 75.
