Oil used: 4.25 quarts Mobil Super Synthetic Blend 5W30 with a mfg date of May 5th, 2020.

Back in/on:
Purolator One PL14476 with 4.25 quarts of Mobil Super Synthetic Blend 5W30.
ADBV was by far the softest of all of the filters that I cut open today. I wrapped the filter in paper towels after I took these pictures, so we’ll see if there’s anything interesting to see in the pleats.

The last picture is just a comparison between this PH4386 off of our RAV4 Hybrid (48,096 miles when filter was removed) run for 4,635 miles (left), and the Wix WL10255 ran for roughly 5,000 miles that I took off of the boss’ 2024 GMC 2500HD 6.6 gasser that I took off at it’s 30,000 mile change (right).

Admitting off the top that topic not my favorite filter, this one looks quite good at ~4600 mi. Not that it matters, but curious why you went back with the 14476 as opposed to 14477, the topic filter equivalent? Based on the filter, thinking that engine pretty clean.

Thanks for c&p.

I have both the 14476 and 14477 in my stash, I went with the 14476 because this oil change is going to really quick with a couple of long road trips, so I figured with the easy highway miles, it was a good time to use up the shorter filter. It’s already over 3,000 miles on the PL14476 on there right now. 🙂

I'm about to make new post about Fram

For what I understand is new fram XG having metal end cap with plastic cage. So tell me what is wrong with now, since peoples Dont recommend fram XG any more, its always my go to for daily drive 5k or 6 month oil filter choice. And easy availability at Walmart under $5 with silicone ADBV.

Also does TG come with metal end cap too?

Fram XG is not under $5 anymore.

I personally have always had good luck with Fram PH’s. I’ve never used the XG so hopefully someone else can chime in on those.
