2008 Honda Civic with a 1.8L engine. 119,095 miles.
In service for 6,290 miles with Valvoline DS 5W-20 conventional.
In/on: QS 5W-30 HM FS D1G3 & a MicroGuard Select MSL 57356.

The filter looks good. No tears or defects in the media that I could see. The leaf does have some ripples/ridges. I’ll be sticking with PG made filters for the time being.

Using the same in my 2008 Honda Civic 1.8 233.000 miles Valvoline R&P second run. Thanks for posting.

As expected, the FE element looks good. I suppose if one can ignore the multiple seal area leak anecdotes including the specific topic application, FE still a purchase option. Fwiw, I think the move to PG made filters, a prudent one.

Thanks for c&p.

This is on my 03 mustang cobra right now, I’m doing 1 years oil change . I keep heard about fram defect this and that.

Should I do a filter swap ?

I’m thinking dead on Mobil 1 oil and Mobil 1 filter for life on this cobra.

Any defect thing about Mobil 1 oil filter here ?

I really don’t care about synthetic media or wire back I just want a solid long term with good track Record without defect. That the filter I’m running.

Mobil 1 filter is overpriced.

Microguard Select - O'Reilly's better choice in my opinion

I appreciate that, but I dont want fall into " flavor of the month " then few month later its report defective, then I need change filter again.

No, I don’t plan on doing that.
You planned on cutting the Oil Filter open, you started a thread on what you did. A member asked you 2 do something, if you do not want 2 do it, maybe find a member who will do what Dave Hess asked you.

If this was a Fram Orange Can Oil Filter, I would not even be posting, but there is a lot of interest with this Fram Endurance Oil Filter.

Appears to be well built. But its a shame they don't give your better filter efficiency for a filter that costs over $4 more than a Tough Guard.
