Wow I wish my oil in my Ford could stay that clean for 5k miles!

But where is the base gasket? Did it get stuck to the filter adapter? I ran a Fram Ultra on the wife's car and I could barely get the thing off. The gasket had "melted" to the filter adapter. I had to get out the big band wrench and even then it was a struggle.

I would say the small port injected FB is about the same as a bigger NA Honda on oil.

The EJ 253 was the easy one on oil because it didn't have two long timing chains and VVTi
Just a dry timing belt

The fire pit lined with razor blades ...
Proper size cup wrench + extension = piece of cake ...once I figured it out :)
Some crazy guys try put a baggie around the filter to catch the oil and keep it off the cat and O2. If they would just loosen it a little and let it drain a bit first. they wouldn't have an issue at all.

Here I did learn that WIX love to blow oil past their flat base gasket on the EJ. Make it tighter and it gets worse.
Stuck with the constrained P-gasket filters and NP. Ever.

Maybe it has to do with the location of the oil filter of the SUBARU  . Envy the ease of the filter change . :(

Nice location for topside R&R if you plan to vacuum out out the DS tube. But that containment cup is tricky to clean without accidentally moving debris into the pump outlet. Also I found the car has a dry start every morning bc the filter empties in a couple hours. I have never removed one of these FB Fram filters and found any appreciable oil quantity in it.

The Wix ProSelect I used on my BIL's FR-S was full of oil.

Too bad the media was torn 🤣

I have to do that on the Honda or it runs down the frame.

Not as bad as some other designs though. At least I can reach the filter without lifting the car.
my worst OC truck was my 2006 Silverado WT 4X4 with the 4.3 six and a MT. The front axle and frame members were right there.
I recall making a diverter channel out of a old disposable aluminum roasting pan. Accidentally bump something and you are slimed :) That may have been more of an issue with the drain plug location rather than the filter , now I think of it. But at least it had a nice cast pan and constrained rubber gasketed oil plug.
And NO jacking required.

Punch a small hole in the top of the oil filter after hot shutdown for the oil change, and let it drain while the sump is draining. It won't spill a drop if you do that. Trick I've done on filters located like that for the last 30 years (RX-7 and Tacoma).
