Not to nitpick but 'I' would have liked to see seal area side view in more contrast to darkness. Large light in pic makes contrast in that area difficult to see in pics. In any case, I was not as fortunate with the close cousin SuperTech filter MP7317 c&p, light seen.

Element itself looks fine.

I used a smaller pocket sized flashlight with all lights off but no noticeable light came through so the picture would have been very dark, so decided to use bigger light as seen in pictures...After reinserting spring/bypass into filter there is now a visible ring of light that can be seen. It could be possible that a film of oil was blocking the light before, but I did clean it with contact cleaner pryer to taking those pictures to wash away any oil.

Apparently, in the can there is 70lb of force from the leaf spring.

I poured oil down the center tube of an intact filter to check the leaf spring integrity. A harder check in a used filter but still possible and a more definitive check imo.
