I've been thinking the exact opposite. The only one I've seen is a terrible one with a bunch of cartoon hogs and some farmer.

Wait, you didn't expect anything serious from those guys did you?

The whole thing gave me a chuckle in a "it's so dumb it's funny" kind of way...

Yeah lots of information and facts on that commercial.

From the people that brought you the "pre-clogged" filter, introducint the pig filter!

Hear their testimonials:
"My car is powered by a pig!"
"The orange color adds 10hp!"
"It costs more, it must be better!"
"Farmer Bob recomends it!"

This is why they don't let engineers, self included, do marketing. We'd want to talk about real product features and better performance. What would we say when the product didn't have any...

I looked at the Air Hog yesterday at Wally's. The media appears the be rather thin. You could see light through the holes in the media.

I'll stick with K&N or S&B.

Tremo:
You can see light thru a K&N too. I dont think that whole more air less dirt crap is true. The more air that gets thru this kind of filter, more dirt does too.

Both the K&N and Airhog seem to use a thin cotton gauze. The Team Green filters use a cotton weave, which sounds like it would make a better filter. I would love to see a test comparing these though.

I have K&N's in two of my vehicles now.

I put an S&B reusable filter in my Wife's Escort. The gauze media seems to be thicker than the K&N or Frams. The S&Bs appear to be well made.

So far, Fram just offers the Air Hog filter in the drop-in or OEM panel style? Right? What is the cost? Compared to K & N? K & N offers both panel and cone style. Anyone concerned about the oil treatment getting on the MAF causing drivability problems? This has been a subject of TSB's from some of the car and truck manuf.

Jim, I have K&Ns on my Camaro, and an S&B on the Escort. No problems with oil getting on the MAFs. Just don't over-oil them, a little goes a long way. Use common sense in the application of the oil and you'll be fine.
