That would not be beyond the realm of possibility if you know rationales as they work when they don't have our form of "legal corruption" in place.

For all we know the cable was never truly cut. Some guy(s) somewhere just said it was. If they have cousins (or people with fat enough wallets) in the business - it would make for a good cooperative move.

Creating new markets. We just don't see the infinite possibilities in a true "Free Enterprise" system. Don't blame them for being imaginative
