Found unplugged cable need to identify

Just had my clutch replaced and I am in the habit every time i have work done on the car of going thru the engine bay and spotting thing that catch my eye as out of place so now I found this loose wire with a white connector any guess what is this for ?


My car is a 2006 Daihatsu Sirion :

Route the female side to the male side and see if they will click together.

Wiring harnesses very rarely have the same plugs for different things, unless the plugs are far away from each other and could not be possible connected.

Mystery solved, the mechanic that changed the clutch on the gearbox forgot to attach the wire to the gearbox. It was the wire that tells the car that the reverse gear is engaged.



So my back up light was no working and also the parking sensors
