Ford's in NASCAR racing are a joke. I'm not nearly the racing fan as I was several years ago (only watched 2 complete races all year) but can anyone build an engine that lasts a full race in a Ford? There's only a handful of drivers running Ford's (most moved to Dodge or Chevy), probably due to the liklihood of the engine blowing up sometine during the race. I'm surprised Ford Motor Company hasn't put some pressure on the remaining teams to get their act together.

Funny you should mention this. I was watching today and saw TWO of the new motors if I am not mistaken go right at the end.. were they both Fords ( I think ) and the commentator said they needed to last only 5 more laps. Well anyhow, they sure do look good when it's not your car plowing and blowing all that OIL (ohhh ummm - SMOKE.
Well, I'm not a big Ford fan, but your post has pretty much no truth except for the blown motors today.
Example: Todays race had 10 Fords (out of 43). Most are Chevy's (alot due to no Pontiac this year, and Dodge dumped some teams last years)
Wins: This year there have been 18 races. Chevy: 9 wins, Fords: 7 wins, Dodge: 2 wins
Last years champion drove a Ford.
Motors: One race early in the season had 5 Hendrick (Chevy) motor blown.
Bottom line: You pretty much summed it up when you said you've only watched a couple of races. That would be like turning on a Braves game and seeing them lose and saying "this team never wins". (13 straight div champs)

Unfortunately my post is true. Any track that has a majority of the race at high RPM's, there has been a disproportionate number of blown Ford engines (as today) compared to the other manufacturers. Ford drivers do have a decent shot at tracks where the engines are not run at consistent high RPM's. Roush had a horrible 2003 season (minus Kenseth) for blown engines...far more than any other manufacturer. Anyone who says Yates and Roush don't have an issue with their engines are not being realistic.

Both Texas and Vegas are fast tracks won by Ford.
I think all motor builders are building themselves into trouble. Like I said Hendricks has had quite a bit of failures in the last two years. All are trying to squeeze more and more and it is leading to failures.
