Any actual information out there on recall 24E12? Lots of internet rumors ranging from massive MPG gains to immediate cat failure after getting the PCM flash. I'll probably get it done anyways but sure would be P.O.'d if my cats went bad after....

Searching the 24E12 as stated, it appears '18-20 F150s
I fixed this problem myself after I had this problem and Ford made me pay 1700 for a new cat converter, then released the recall. The light came back on after the update. The problem occurs again if you run premium gas. The check engine light will come back on. Run a tank of low test regular gas and the light will go back off. It's the system reading the octane levels wrong and ford is ripping people off. Would you believe god sent a messenger in a dream to tell me how to remedy the light coming in. I dreamed this solution and fixed it.

I run nothing but 93 octane in my 2.7 F-150. I made the light go out as well. My solution was an Italian tune-up. My catalytic converter was still replaced at no charge and it's still getting better fuel mileage.
I haven't had the MIL light coming on since.
