Ford F-150 Lightning named MotorTrend Truck of the Year

Anyone who thinks the can buy one of these things, and actually tow anything with it, is going to be both disappointed, as well as find themselves inconvenienced, if not flat out stranded. Range and recharging continues to be a never ending issue with EV's..... Made even worse with EV trucks.

Its almost like there actually are scenarios where these work... co-worker has one and loves it so far...

As far as the youtube channels, etc go... Its almost like throwing red meat to a certain fan base. Generates clicks and more hysteria.... Kind of like most posts on EV's and solar and wind energy seem to go here...

Hoovie's videos on the truck are pretty fair, IMO. Obviously the shouty text on the thumbnail has to grab attention, but beyond that he does try to look at it from all sides. That's not to say other channels don't have a slant - I probably don't watch them.

Around town towing seems fine for a homeowner or lawn service for example. But obviously not suitable for a travel trailer or cross country. For an all around vehicle it's pretty awesome.

I think it was a pretty upfront article. They clearly state the performance advantages and clearly state it's not ready for prime time truck duties as far as towing goes.
It's pretty clear, if you're going to tow over distance an EV is not for you.

AS EVs become popular I do think some EV owners will look at gasoline owners with admiration that the gasoline power can refuel their vehicle in minutes anyplace in the country and drive another 300 to 400 miles carefree to the next station. ;)
Of course in a local setting, EVs (at the right price of an economy car) will shine and in a performance setting for the same reason.
