Ford Ecoboost Engine

I have a FX4 F150 3.73 Gear Ecoboost truck, so far 550 miles and on the highway going 70+ I get 18.5 mpg. It keeps getting better each run to work which is 60 miles one way. Ford says Motorcraft 5-30 was run in there test truck even in the BAJA 1000 so I see no need to run a 10-30. It also looks like a nightmare to change the oil, but I will probably do it at about 2000 miles, already have the new filters in the bullpin.

I had put truck on those drive-up ramps so frt end up off ground. Had to remove a rear heat shield/cover behind engine to get to drain plug. It uses plastic quarter turn screws. Then there's another black furry cover under radiator support so you can reach up and get to oil filter. It's held in place by plastic pop grommets So, I take the pan bolt out and darn if the oil isn't hitting a sway bar and dumping all over driveway. Then with the front end up,instead of oil from filter hitting the plastic oil drain thingy and running towards front of truck, it runs towards rear of engine and all inside this metal protective sheet under the engine area that's held in place by bolts... So, next time I know what to watch out for..

It's amazing how you post about oil on a vehicle and how far left posts go on this forum...just saying..
