Unfortunately for the rest of the car buying public, most gearheads are all talk and little to no action, and don't buy cars when they are made available to them.

Gearhead cars are brought over here all the time, and no one buys them. Ford's last disaster in that realm was Merkur.

True.
But then again they never did offer U.S. the RS500 Cossie, nor Sierra Cossie RS (4 door sedan) versions either.

Ahhh, the Merkur. A squadron-mate of mine bought one of those during my early flying days (mid-80s). Don't forget, though -- that car's failure, which was an obvious foregone conclusion from the day it was released, was as much a result of the FACT that it was vastly uglier than a deeply infected boil on a hairy man's derriere, as anything. We used to tell him that mere presence in the driver's seat of that monstrosity constituted Conduct Unbecoming an Officer (in violation of Article 133 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice

).

By contrast, the current Falcon, perhaps excluding the wagonoid versions, are very pretty cars, IMO anyway. As I said above, if they brought it over here in proper form, I'd probably trade the Camry for a basic six version, just to reward them for their courage in doing so.

I like the FG falcon.

GMHolden has a very juvenile approach to design, the VE headlights are from 1988. and the cars look ridiculous from behind.

I will never understand why muscle-cars were made in 4-door versions in Australia, and were successful.

Remembering back in the day, most people could have only one car, and often times if they could spring for something heavy, then it needed to do family work as well.
