The ATX Auto Trans as fitted to the US and European Ford Escort,Mercury Lynx etc calls for transmission fluid that meets spec SQM-2C 9010 A.Does anyone know which available fluids meet this spec.I heard that the fluid is referred to as CJ Fluid?

What year Escort? Obligatory mention of http://www.feoa.net/ Ford Escort Owners Association (FEOA)
In my 1985 Escort I used Dexron II
In my 1995 Escort I use Dexron III. Specifically this:

Or this (because I do have 21 years and 238K miles on this transmission):

My local Ford Dealer is insisting that i use the Ford Branded ATF

he had not heard of the Fuchs product,or Dexron specs, didn't fill me with confidence knowing that he apparently knows less than i do

Would i be safe to use the above Fuchs ATF if it appears to meet the required spec?

Most people in US/Canada won't know name Fuchs as it's not readily available unless one buys barrels of it for use at auto shop. Fuchs makes very good oil products and I'd not hesitate using their oils.
