What’s the differance between the two ???

Ford says to only use Mercon LV
GM only Dexron IV

Let’s hear it !

There are some friction material design differences, But.....I doubt you could tell the difference in a blind test with Dex VI in a Ford unit & Merc LV in a GM unit.

in many cases, Merc LV is homologous to Dex-VI and should carry both license numbers. Some brands or blenders won’t seek approval for both specs.
