Found NOS tie rods inner and out for my ford flex. Old stuff made in USA. I guess I will have to see when it actually comes in the mail to confirm.
Now if they are USA made I will probably still come back here in a couple of months cursing moog out saying that moog is junk.
Lets make a poll! Will I call moog junk because:
A: I am an idiot who wont bother to grease the greaseable tie rod end
B: I am an idiot who didn't bother to tighten down the outer tie rod to the proper spec letting it walk all over and tear everything up
C: I am an idiot who used a 1,200 pound rated impact gun to crush the aluminum knuckle between the tie rod and the nut until it deformed
D: I am an idiot who used a sledge hammer to knock the the aluminum hell out of out of the knuckle to the point of it deforming followed by using the same sledge hammer to "straighten out" the knuckle by hammering the new outer tie rod end back home yelling "hulk smash!"

Any way whats with these crappy moog parts and why don't professional mechanics have any problems with these? They must be buying some secret mechanic only parts. My parts come with ID10T prefix.

I've heard that Moog has started making them out of Chineseum-that miracle alloy that turns everything to junk! Maybe they have a "professional Chineseum line"?
I think there is. I need to get access to it because my rotors keep warping !
I dont know why they keep warping! Any way I have gotten really good at the brake jobs now replacing the rotor.
rip caliper off dangle by the collapsing brake hose. Pack caliper slide pin 1 with 5 pounds of copper anti seize, dont touch pin 2 beacuse its frozen solid with rust. Leave out the stainless slide shim hardware brackets, slap the pads in and off I go!
Its all junk that keeps warping rotors because chinesiusm!

Oh I forgot E!
E: use the air hammer to remove the out tie rod, go bonkers with no trigger control smash the hell out of the tie rod hole and deform it, hammer new tie rod end in.

I think if one person says something is junk, then 1000 people see it on youtube, and then the whole world regurgitates the BS.

Moog is not junk in general methinks

I don't know whether it is or not. People who do this for a living did mention noticeable quality change.
I just think that there is a lot of people out there who are blaming the arrow and not the indian.

Cheap moog did not include lock washers. Needs some grease as they are a bit notchy as I move them.

My father recently retired and was a mechanic for over 50 years and had his own shop for almost 40. He used to swear by Moog. Even though they were the pricier option they always came out on top and never led to many call-backs.

Around 10 years ago he started to notice a difference where the quality would sometimes be off and sometimes it would be the good stuff. About 5 years ago he stopped buying their stuff... always a problem.

What happened to them? I used to spend extra just for Moog because I knew it was one of the better options.

Well another update. Ford does not use locking washers. There is a washer in there it is a sandwich of metal and rubber used to do something? Maybe seal the steering rack? Either way the only way to get those washes is to buy ford oem inner rods.
I think I can reuse mine.
Do those ford electric power steering racks use grease?
