I drive an SUV (well a 1 tonne (Oz) 4WD ute, with a shell over the canopy_, sort of a two compartment station wagon, and I'd ditch the transfer case and front diff if they were on offer that way down here, as the LSD is good enough for my mild non bitumen experience.

Following a Dodge Nitro this morning, second time I've seen one, and needed to take a leak. Maccas (Golden Arches) coming up. Dodge turning into Maccas, I think that's a clean toilet, and at least they have coffee, I'll go there too.

As he turns in, I'm following in a normal sort of turn in off a major road, and he props, to a less than walking pace...I near hit him. He accelerates in a wide sweeping pattern through the car par, to adopt a sort of angle parking method, at which I could broad side him.

Tyres are like a layer of tyre black around a chromed alloy garbage can lid...no wonder he was so careful of an inch high "kerb" before the slope of the gutter...on an off road vehicle.

20 minutes down the road, and there's a string of cars doing 20km below the limit, as the road's too twisty for them. first sign of a corner, and it's brake to 15 below the posted corner speed. Straights, and it's 20 over the posted limit.

that dodge nitro is a P O S.

it drives me up the walls when someone goes 80 in a 100 zone on a single lane road, blocking you up on a double white cetnreline... and then speeds up to 110 on the overtaking lanes because they have more sense of space?!?!?...

Oddly enough, when I had my SVT Contour (Your Mondeo), it was the other way around for me. I'd slow on the straights to give the traffic scared of a curve a cushion, and then try to do double the recommended speed for the curve.

What's the point of having low profile, high performance tires if you don't actually use them?

Why buy tires you can't use without bothering other traffic?

Because the roads are not always clogged for one.

You never know when you might find yourself at an AutoX or track day

Looking at the wheels, I'm sure that the teeth would be non-functional also, with the gold inlay and diamonds.

Aussies don't know how to go around corners - turning down a side street is as good as it gets.Aussie motorcylists come over here and can't believe how twisty our roads are....they are worn out in a couple of days.

Silk, when I'm turning inside guys on gold wings on an uphill corner in a Navara ST-R diesel, I tend to agree with you.

Might get meself a swaybar kit.
