Flushing before Ford recommends

It would not hurt, I usually flush all my cars regardless of make or coolant type every 2-3 years regardless of mileage as well.

I think its a good idea. There is no way I would follow their 100,000 recommendation on differential lube and plugs! I change/flush every fluid every 30,000 miles in my Ford.

I change the Motorcraft G-05 and distilled water in mine every 25,000 miles/2 years. Also replace the thermostat and rad cap whilst I'm at it. Early, I agree. But with the price between Premium Green and Gold being just 85 cents per gallon, I opt for the Gold (takes 2 gallons anyway). It's also peace of mind considering the environment it operates in.

My Ford dealer recommends 30k and I go with that. I don't do it myself anymore since I don't want to mess with the draining and flushing. I remember one poster here was responsible for a large fleet of pickups. They found that the easiest and most cost effective way was to simply drain the radiator once a year and replace with pre-mixed coolant. If I did it myself I think that would be a good plan.

modern vehicles do not require routine cooling system service if they are properly maintained.

The dealer simply recommends service to make money, period. Read the owners manual and follow it like the WORD!

We run a fleet and the coolant is never touched until the system needs to be opened for repairs.

+1 SteveSRT8. Old school & old style coolents needed to be changed often but,not today. Follow manufactures recomendation. If it helps you sleep night then change at 4y/80,000 miles

I change mine every 30k when I do my plugs and fuel filter, air filter, and cabin filter.

A small price to pay for peace of mind.

Plus, I keep all receipts and records. When I go to sell my cars I can usually get a little more $$ because I'm so stubborn about my maintenance.

This is my plan with my '07 Grand Marquis.
