I picked one up from Wal Mart for $2.50 - its the graphite "wrench" w/ the 1" nut and 3/8" socket hole.

My 81 T-bird (5.0) has a hard to change oil filter location, which is made even harder to change thanks to my super thick Hellwig anti-sway bars.

Long story short, a normal wrench won't fit very easily, and just plain sucks to use.

This tool fits over the end of the filter and you easily spin it off! No matter how tight the filter is!!

Excellent tool! I got the #1 size that works on the 5.0 filter and the 4.6/5.4 filters

I've got four of those! They are awesome! I bought a bunch of sizes to use on all the cars I change oil with. Now that I will be switching from K&Ns, they will come in handy (since the K&N had the nut on the end I didn't need these wrenches with them)

But this one works better because if the filter is buried (like in my wife's Honda) and is on there tight, you can stick an extension into this wrench, and use a ratchet to remove it.

Greg: yeah, try using your hand and cloth on the oil filter in my T-bird. Your hand won't fit due to the fact the power steering bracket sits right next ot it.

With a FL-1A, I would have been able to use a gloved hand to remove/install it, but since I got a humongo Hellwig front sway bar, I had to use the smaller filter (for the pre-92 Crown Vic Police Interceptors w/ the 5.8L 2-bbl V8 and the oil cooler).

Luckily, the size 1 FloTool wrench fits all the filters at home

I got myself one of those.

My dad's winstar's filter is 'protected' by the sub frame, last time, I had to poke it open with a screwdriver then turn it.

Will any of these tools that people are mentioning fit a 4 or 5-inch diameter filter? I have an OilGuard EPS-20 filter and the little strap-twist thing I got at AutoZone just can't torque it enough.

Holy Thread Revival Batman!

To answer, it appears the 3331 is
I know you asked about the Flo Tool which according to Amazon is the 3 prong oil filter wrench. In my experience the full coverage Lisle cam action 63600 is a better adjustable cap wrench.

The nice thing is one can obtain the same wrench under the OEM tool name at AZ for half the price ($5.99) of the Lisle Amazon price. Got one for my son at Christmas and he thinks it's great. Should fit the 3331 filter size.
