Toyota62-
Drew99GT hit the jackpot that these are not "true" tappet designs in toyotas but more like shims (bucket shims, hockey pucks, etc.).
I've serviced and torn apart various Toyota engines of that designs during the past 10 yrs and really, what do you have to worry about RE: ZDDP levels and newer release of stock Toyota engines?
While it is nice to know that there's something like ZDDP that works wonderfully in most automotive engine applications but IMHO the general public has been brainwashed into the believing that only ZDDP can do the job and nothing else can (and that's poppycock!). We now have blends that pass ILSAC GF-4, while still low in ZDDP, but the other boron based EP/AW additives would supplement the effect of what large dosage of ZDDP would used to have and still provide long and reliable service life to boot.
While I do not dispute the effectiveness of ZDDP, I DO, however, thinks that casually thowing in ZDDP in a modern motor oil designed around cars made these days is downright silly (a high degree of arrogance within).
Time to move your mindset forward a bit toyota62, just wait and see what's in ILSAC GF-5 specifications and you'll drop your jaw.
