Is there a bigger capacity Motorcraft filter replacement available for the FL820S? Application is a 2001 4.0 SOHC Explorer. There are no interference issues in using a longer filter, just nothing fatter. So there's no reason not to use a larger capacity filter. I run 6K OCIs with Mobil 1 0w30. I prefer to use a Motorcraft or another similar quality filter. Any help would be appreciated.

The FL820 is massive. I dont think you need bigger for a 6k oci. After our expedition is out of warranty I am changing to Amsoil EAO and SSO for the yearly oil change.

Unless you got a sludge design engine with a low sum capacity, the whole "larger filter" is a waste. The FL-820 is a large and robust enough filter to get the job done.

It's a decent size filter, but not massive. I just wanted more capacity. I end up with just under a half qt every change in my 5 qt mobil 1 jug and I don't like storing it. The motor does not use any oil, so no need to top off.
