285/75r16's... 33's on the FJ Cruiser. Also added a 2" wheel spacer. Love the look and the performance.

I went with ChiCom Tires off of Walmart.com... Crosswinds. Got them for $145 each. This is my third set of Crosswinds and they perform and wear just fine.

Nice. And props for running the FJ Cruiser. Toyota truck MPG aside; far underrated and capable whip... 20-30 years from now young men will be searching high and low for these to restore and DD.

I don’t know if I would call it underrated. 🤔

People are searching for these now, they just can’t find them decently priced. Even with 200k plus, the owners think they’re worth taking out a second mortgage for! I get the reliability aspect, but jeez! 😂

It’s like the Jeep crowd, they believe they have something extra special and it’s made of pure gold!

Have you looked at Milestar tires?

I’ve heard some good things about their M/T’s for the price.

There are ever fewer options really. Finding an unmolested one is the issue.

Wranglers hold their price well and the pentastar is not the longest lasting thing out there. Plus there not unique. Not saying I don't like them, just that there very common.

4Runner. Good rig, but again, many of them around.

Land Cruiser, Defender, etc - priced out of the normal crowd.

There's lots of them out there. Here's a local one, 2014 with 88k miles for $31k. Gotta pay to play when you want a cult vehicle. What would you pay?

I'm not paying 32k+ (31,882 + taxes) for any 11-12 year old vehicle with 88k miles, I don't care what it is. So yeah, there may be lots of them out there because people are waking up to the insanity.

What would I pay? That's neither here nor there, because I would never own one for what I think they're worth. Knock about 7-8k off of that price and I might, just might, start thinking about it. (If it was in good shape)

People are just too willing to accept insane prices, that's why we're in the situation we're in.

Well, I'm not in it, I don't pay to play, it's not worth it.

When it comes to the JK's, people talk crap about the 3.8L in the 2007-11 models, but I've seen far more of those with 200-300k on them. The thing is, they're still running strong,.. well, as strong as they can! ;)
They may be a bit down on power, but they're far more reliable than the 3.6L, and far easier to work on. That's important to me, especially in a trail rig.

I paid $145 each for LT285/75R16's, shipped from Walmart.Com. The price for these exact tires in the store is $215 per tire. They are hard to balance a two of my rims have a good bit of lead.

......

Yes, it seems like most don't like the 3.8L except a few, and they seem to really like them.

I had a WJ with a 4.7 in it - which is more or less the 8 cylinder version I think. I really liked it, had very few problems. Maybe I should try one?

I would love to have one as well!

I guess I'll never own one, given the mileage, they're just too expensive for my taste. ;) 🍻
there are several on FBMP with 150k miles or so for $12-$15k. These vehicles, if well maintained, can easily go 300-400k miles.

Mine is an '07 with 160k miles. Mine has all the fancy off-road goodies and lockers, etc... so I paid $17k for it when it had 144k miles.
