I have to say that most of mine were actually the TV shows. Not that I didn't love the motion pictures.

But here's my top 5. However, I wouldn't say quite in this order.

The Big Valley
Bonanza
The Rifleman
Gunsmoke
Death Valley Days

Shows wise that's a good list. Mine would be...

The Rifleman
Gunsmoke
Bonanza
The Wild Wild West
Cheyenne

Movies:

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
Red River.
Winchester 73.
The Searchers.

Television shows:

Gunsmoke.
Bonanza.
Death Valley Days.
Have Gun Will Travel.
Rawhide.

Reality is , there are too many to list. I mourned the day when the television networks en masse cancelled all the westerns.

I forgot about WWW. It was one of my favorites too. I may have to move around my selection.

Now, I'm starting to rethink my choices(for a Top5). Does anyone remember the other Chuck Connors series, "Branded"?

My brain is functioning now!

I'm sorry, I know we're supposed to be talking about movies & not TV shows. My apologies!

Unforgiven
The Good The Bad and The Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Searchers
The Outlaw Josey Wales

Bite the Bullet
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Sacketts
The Outlaw Josey Wales
The Shootist

For me, TV series, Deadwood. For movie, can't believe nobody brought up Silverado. "Where's the dog?"

I normally love Tarantino movies, but wasn't a fan of Django at all. Hateful Eight wasn't much better.

Can't believe I forgot one of the all time greats. Rawhide, with a young Clint Eastwood.

In addition to many already listed, I submit:

I consider High Noon a classic. Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly at her most beautiful.
Cat Ballou is a fun and quirky movie (despite having a certain actress in it).
Winchester '73 was pretty good with Jimmy Stewart

If John Wayne or Jimmy Stewart are in it, it will at least be pretty good and likely great. I really like The Shootist which has them both. It's a little hard to watch knowing it's roughly the end of both their careers.
