I had p1131 and p0133 codes over the summer that seemed to suggest a bad O2 sensor, but I cleared them, and they didn't come back, but I've got problems again. Now it's a p0171 code, and the car misses a little under load, with an occasional stumble at idle. I've looked around for vacuum leaks with a propane torch. I didn't find much, although I replaced two dry-rotted section of hose in the pvc system coming off the valve covers.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

2.5 Duratec, I would think about replacing upper plenum o-rings. They don't always show with propane. And THE only time you replace O2 sensors on a Ford product is if the heater has failed. Otherwise to fix a lean code would be a waste of money. Also check coil pack for hairline cracks which they are famous for.

beast3300,

Thanks for the suggestions. The coil is fairly new, but I'll take a look. I think I can handle the UIM gaskets, but I was hoping that there might be easier fixes.

UIM are super easy on that!

Looks like it was a dirty injector. A bottle of Gumout All in One seems to be cleaning everything up.
