Here is my first handgun, a S&W M&P 9c. First ever gun, actually.

I took an NRA Handgun Safety Class some years ago in the Baltimore area so I'm not a complete novice with guns.

I fired 100 rounds last weekend, she shot real nice (but what do I know?) I've already disassembled and cleaned her and am looking forward to shooting her again this weekend!

That's a nice little S&W you have there. If we were allowed to carry up here, that is what I would have. For my home protection I just have my .12 gauge and my .38 S&W MP model.

Nice choice, My brother has the exact same one and I have been putting a lot of rounds through it lately. In fact that will most likely be my next pistol purchase.

Excellent choice. I've got the same weapon (actually I like ALL the S&W M&P so maybe I have more models..)

and it is the best compact weapon I've ever shot.

Carried the Glock Model 23 for many many years and the M&P is heads over it IMO.

Here is a place for very comfortable holsters. Crossbreed

If you are a NRA member (and if you are not PLEASE become one!) they will give a 10% discount.

I just received two more from them. (one for my S&W 638 and one for my wife's M&P 9c)

Two week try it out or 100% money back and lifetime warranty plus SERIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. (No I do not get a kick back from them, just someone who ENJOYS a company who makes everything here, by hand and loves America

Take care and enjoy the new 9C. (It needs to have its full size brother with it soon!)

Thank you, everybody!

It's a terrific gun, of course. Made in the USA and so rock-solid. All the comments I read around the internet were so overwhelmingly positive on the M&P line that it really helped me with my choice. Bill, your comments were influential, too, you should know that.

I do not actually plan to carry it, at this time, but it's nice to have that option. I chose the compact size because it fits in my small nightstand drawer very nicely and I just liked the weight, size and feel of it, overall.

When I took it to the range the other day I found I was shooting a little bit low, so I'll need to work on that (no problemo!) Overall, it struck me as pretty accurate. Especially after I took it apart to clean it and was looking at that stubby little barrel. Wow. Well, I only need to be accurate withing 10 yards, max, I would think.

Bill, I'm sure you are familiar with this site: http://mp-pistol.com/boards/

Mind-boggling amounts of info.

Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words! I try to be honest, factual and tell it like it is on every board I'm on.

And I am on over at mp-pistol.com. It is a great source for M&P stuff.

S&W REALLY did their homework (and learned from the Sigma) to produce one of the best SD weapons out there.

Take care, Bill

i really liked the m&p line but it didn't feel right in my hand for some reason. otherwise I woulda got one too. should last you forever. S&W are good ones.
