As the title says I had my first experience with Mobil 1 4T racing this week. I changed the oil in my cousins ZX7R and he immediately said the bike shifted smoother. Keep in mind he is new to riding and knows NOTHING about oil or the fact that the oil is used in both the engine and gear box. With that being said I don't believe that this is in his head as he didn't know to look for smoother shifting. Unfortunately I can't tell you what oil was used previously due to the fact that he just bought the bike used. I do know that the oil was changed just before he bought it (oil was still clean). I might just have to use this Mobil 1 product in my new GSX-R600.

Well, his clutch is now slipping! I don't THINK it's the oil I just think the clutch has gone out. I did change the oil to Superflow 20w50 just to see if it helps, but no dice. Now I get to learn how to replace the clutch on a bike!

Did you use the 15w-50 Mobil 1 4t (for Triumphs)? or the 10w-40 4t? Let use know how the 20w-50 works. What is in the manual for viscosity required for th Kawi?

Who knows how the previous owner treated the bike. It does have new tires.

That's why I bought new.

I don't think I would ever buy a used sportbike.

I can't imagine it being the oil causing the clutch to slip. Timing coincidence, but not causation. I've used MX4T oil before and it worked great on my zx6r
