Firestick TV

What's perfect about the Fire Stick is that it's free, and all we really use TV for is background noise. Local channels with an outdoor antenna is good to keep up with what's going on around town locally.

I have a couple of questions:

I've noticed I have to unplug and plus the power cord back in when I turn on the TV or I won't have any sound. I have to re-boot the Fire Stick every day. Is this normal?

Also, there's this toolbar looking thing at the bottom that says LEDTV ULTRASLIM that stays there. Is there a way to make it go away?

That doesn't sound normal at all. I never reboot my Fire Stick 4K, and I don't need to unplug the TV either, although in my case, the Fire Stick is plugged into an AVR and not into the TV directly.

Why do you HAVE to reboot your FireStick? What exactly is happening to it?

I've got mine plugged into the tv directly in one of its HDMI ports.

With my firesticks I find they slow down after a while. It may be the number of apps I have installed. Amazon normally pushes a weekly update down to each firestick. Plus I have the tv and firesticks on power bars that I switch off when not in use.

When I turn my TV back on I have no sound. I unplug the Fire Stick and plug it back in and it reboots, and I have the sound back.
That's not happening at all to me.
In the Amazon Stick menu you can activate CEC. That way I can turn on and off the TV with the stick remote.
