Maybe it's the bignut behind the keyboard but I can't get a couple things to work in Firefox.

1) Stock charts at various sites and Fidelity in particular stock charts won't show up. Says I need a Nutscrape PlugIn. I could find no plug-in that would help me. Is there an extension that will work here?

2) Media such as the silly Bush/Kerry "This Land" will not play. (you know, http://www.jibjab.com/) Says I need a Nutscrape PlugIn. I could find no plug-in that would help me. Is there an extension that will work here?

So media site do ask to play in Media player or whatever and that seems to work.

HELP!!!

I installed the macromedia player and it works like a charm. Not sure why it worked for others without the player??

Thanks RJUNDI!! You da man...(in the thanks kinda way!)

I will email Fidelity.

Amkeer - it is worth it so far to be free of IE. The few small plugins are so easy to install, so nicely custom. I think you speak from stubborness, honestly. IE simply is WAY overbloated...abusive and yet despite it's closed code so hackable, screw IE!

This is why I stick with IE.

You have to install these plugins with IE too, most just don't remember it.

These media types(shockwave, flash, ect.) are prioritory and require a special add on player. No browser can play them without them. Whether you know it or not your IE uses a plug-in to view them too.

Some site's block other browsers from using some features, which will probably work with FF too if they are coded right. The sight users however don't want to fix their sloppy code or work with other browsers so they block access. Supposedly you can modify Firefox into pretending it's IE and it will actually work on most of these sites. Or even simplier you can download the View in IE extension and just right click to view these sites.

If you want to save some hassle and stop the monopolizing of the internet, e-mail the website administrator and let them know how you feel.

I am aware of the plug-ins, they are installed. I agree IE sucks I just can not afford at this time to have compatibility issues. To much at stake. I will research it and eventually use it someday, but not anytime in the near future. Yes and I am stubborn!

What compatabilty issues are you having? What's so hard about right clicking and selecting "view with IE?"

I am using Mandrake and Konqueror. Yes there are websites I can't access. This may be partly due me not taking the time to try to set everything up. On the other hand, I never have any problems with viruses, worms, spyware, ad ware, etc. As for the sites I can't load, if they want to exclude non Microsoft users, fine. There isn't any web site I can't do without.

Oh, one more thing. I don't like the way Bill Gates does business, so I do without him.

1) Fidelity wrote a specific codestream that only supports IE and Netscape browsers (the two major in the past). It may run but part of the code tests the browser and its non-IE/Netscape so it doesn't. You can only complain to Fidelity, Firefox I believe will be supported more and more as the adoption rate is up there.
2) It works on my firefox, what plug in does it require?
