Filter Flow Tests?

Based on my testing I think the Pure One is a much better filter than the standard Fl-400S. For the past couple years it's all I use on my cars and tractor. It probibly does filter as well as claimed. As far as adequate oil flow, I'm not sure without further testing. I may try and test the cracking pressure of the bypass valve and how much oil will flow at a given pressure.

Does anyone know how many gallons per minute an oil pump delivers in a Ford V6?

I have been using the Pure One PL21095 on my 18hp Onan engined Ingersoll garden tractor for about 400hrs now, it now has 1200hrs and still has the same 135psi cylinder compression that I got it with at 400hrs. I can almost double the oil change interval with the Pure One vs a FL-400S and quadruple the oil change interval over a standard Onan filter. My tractor oil changes are based on visual inspections of the oil. If it looks clean, it stays in, if its dark brown I change it.

One thing I have not seen addressed is the fact that an oil pump on an engine is a positive displacement pump, it will put out a set volume of fluid at a given RPM regardless of back pressure. A more restrictive filter may have a greater differential pressure across it but with a positive displacement pump, the volume will remain constant, the engine will receive the same amount of oil at a given RPM unless the pump is worn.

just wondering if BOB got the results from UOA without oil filter?

Bob has been in the hospital for many weeks now, and I don't believe he got his UOA on that test before it happened. And when he gets out, chances are good he won't be driving his car for a long time, so with his car sitting for such a very long time, any data achieved will be compromised. His wife doesn't drive, so that car has most likely been sitting untouched for a couple of months now.
