This happened out back a few years ago. Cubby was checking it out.
The darker male cat was the aggressor.
That guy sure had a chip on his shoulder.

Never get in between bickering felines. They are incredibly quick and use their claws with great effect A garden hose or water pistol can cool them down.

Have you noticed in a cat fight, the female always wins😻. When I was in jr high/high school, a stray female calico adopted us. She was very sweet and tiny, maybe weighed 5 lbs max. She would only let you pet he while she was eating, but she would always sit right there by your side no matter what. She would literally beat every huge male tom within an inch of their life if they wandered into our yard. It's like she was a kitty black belt or something:D

Senseless violence has never amused me. Society runs smoothly most of the time thanks to the people who suppress causes of senseless violence.

I'm not sure how you correlate violence within civilized human society with the animal kingdom, but I totally agree when it comes to meanness and violence. Senseless violence is completely and totally horrible. Unfortunately it's the norm within the animal kingdom. It's just the cycle of nature.

On a good note, our beloved beautiful calico never lost a fight, and never suffered a single scratch. Trust me, if any harm had come to her, I would've stepped in.

They certainly control their territory better. There are no cat fights like toms and neutered males...my neutered female does a stare down, and the toms back away. Or she does a high speed run at them...they turn tail and take off ! At the moment there is a family of ferals in a corner of our back yard. They won't attack kittens...but she is watching...and they are watching her watching. Interesting to watch what happens next.

The white cat is feral, he has a scar on his leg, the grey guy is too well fed to be feral - he is kicking the feral out of his territory.

That also goes for the 2 legged kind.
