We had Shaw Direct (Canadian Satellite TV) for over a decade. Canada has a handful of really good TV shows/ series filmed and produced in Canada.

My favorite- filmed in British Columbia--- The Liquidator, really fun to watch.

My favorite is HNIC! But yes Trailer Park Boys was also funny!

Lot's of American TV shows past and present are filmed in Canada with Vancouver and Toronto being the most popular locations. But as far as real Canadian shows the recently wrapped up Schitt's Creek and Kim's Convenience are my favourites.

I felt the same at first, as the personalities of most of the characters rubbed me the wrong way. Once you make it through that initial character development phase, it gets way better.
