OK .... want the secret to a really good pecan pie ?
I mean one your mother would take note of ?
Its as simple as cutting one ingrediant with another.
Look at your recipe see where it has Kayro syrup ?Ok cut that down with " H O N E Y " to equal parts to make measure.
Think Im kidding ? it makes all the difference in the world. These Texas women dont pull blue ribbons on Pecan Pies cause that aint no good
Mmmm, Pecan Pie! Sure looks good- and as a lifelong East Texas boy, I've been exposed to many first class pecan pies.
Other big favorites: Cherry, & a *good* Lemon Meringue pie- not that yukky evil pretender made from lemon Jello pudding!
The honey sounds good, I may have to try that for Christmas.
Another pecan pie variation- for the Karo/corn syrup, substitute half(maybe even all) of it with maple syrup. Mrs. Butterworth's seems to be a favorite for a mass market, off the shelf "maple flavored" syrup. If you have some *real* maple syrup on hand, that might be so good it would kill ya. But what a way to go!
I'll start out with a piece of Pecan, followed by slices of Pumkin, Sweet Tater, Apple, and Peach, then finish those off with a nice amount of Blackberry Cobbler!!
