Snow White pie from a kids cook book. Surprisingly great.

Next thread should be about cobblers!

Tell me about both. Did you or your wife and family make? They look REALLY good.

What makes a cherry vanilla pie?
What IS a Snow White pie?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My pie turned out really tasty. The bottom fake crust is amazing, nice texture and held together. I could/should have used more topping but I had OD'd on too much filling! And the filling - I didn't want it pucker tart or much sweet, and nailed that. A little runny but held up fine. We cheated and ate it with Dreyer's slow churned vanilla bean ice cream. Probably gonna die some day, but worth it. Hahahahhaha.

Yes, my wife makes these with help from myself and/or my kids.

We picked pie cherries, she made the crusts from scratch.

The Snow White pie is a blueberry/raspberry pie (iirc) that has that hand-made medalion on it, and some crystallized sugar. It’s from a kids cookbook, I’ll take a photo of the recipe when I think of it.

Cool - find out about the vanilla part too. Thanks!

Multi berry hand pies over the fire
I mushed the berries with some heavy cream powder. I thought it would be more whitish inside, but looks and thickened like a regular pie filling. Just sweet enough, super rich and tasty. BUT wow waiting for them to cool is torture.

Oh, yeah! I've got to get our pie irons out of our stored camping gear. I still remember fondly scouting days and making "pies" from buttered wonder bread and canned cherry pie filling.

Peach pie. Made with co op farmer peaches and hand made crust. Mom and I made yesterday. Nephews had piece of peach cobbler I made and ice cream.

I have made a "hot apple pie" and also "hot chocolate" cookie. I use cayenne pepper in recipes like this...if you get it right, the warmth from the pepper actually makes it feel like you are eating something warm when it is room temp.
