Does anyone have a headlamp they’d recommend? I find myself in odd situations where I think it’d be helpful to have one. Lower profile would be ideal. Thanks for your time.

Whatever you get, make sure it's rechargeable and doesn't use disposable batteries.
Depends on scenario. I prefer to have replaceable batteries and often use rechargeable ones. Walking in the woods with scouts and it's dying I can swap new ones from my backpack and keep going. I can recharge when we get back. I can stop at a store if I need more.

Most of mine for that are AA not the smaller AAA or button cell.

I use the crap out of the Milwaukee 2115. I run through at least three batteries per day. This is now my second one, had to warranty my first after a lot of use. I don't think Milwaukee intended it to be used for ~6 hours per day everyday ;)

I always run it on maximum brightness. I work alone so not many people to blind.

There are some other decent lights in the RedLithium line-up

Favorite headlamp? whichever one has juice. I have a cheap rechargeable one that I love just for that reason. No more batteries to change out. It's the first one I've bought and I'll look into replacing it soon but I'll never buy one with disposable batteries again.

This 700 lumen Braun model is rechargeable and contains the batteries in the light module. The headlights with the battery pack attached to the back of the headband are cumbersome when lying on the ground working under a vehicle. Also, select a headlight with a band across the top of the head; otherwise, the light will tend to slide down over time. This unit has the adjustable focal lens (i.e., spotlight to wide beam), tilt adjustment and adapter hooks for use on a hardhat.

This is absolutely true! Since I have a lift I try avoid being on my back whenever possible but that's not possible for everyone.

Milwaukee does also make a RedLithium with the battery in the light assy up front, but it's a single headband and that stretches over time. I've come to appreciate the headbands as shown above with the loop over the TOP of the head.

Oh and yeah you WANT tilt. Some complain of having to always look up or down their nose, but with a swivel head that's a non-issue

I use a Black Diamond Spot for hiking into hunting spots, and climbing trees with a climber tree stand, in the dark. It has served me well, and is bright enough to navigate the woods in the dark. It is also lightweight and fairly low profile.

try a Princeton head lamp, it's all I ever used at work,,by far the best one ever , a bit pricey though they are true professional grade.

I can’t believe I didn’t think of them when I started searching. I’ve got one of their “mounted” options and it’s been great. Thanks for this.
