I did not get a ride (of course) but I do remember seeing a landing and take off in London.
It's only now I learn the Rotor Tip Jets were not Ram Jets, but were fed compressed air from the main engines. It could hover on the power of one engine, if need be.
It was loud in Tip Jet mode, the sound was said to stop conversation 2 miles away!
But other than that, I would have thought it had a lot going for it.
