BTW, I always give my Uber driver a $5 tip.

I met a Vietnam Vet with a tattoo of his social security number across his chest. For ID purposes! I felt empathy for him. At least he came home.

I've never seen a face tattoo that looked good.

I did date a girl who had a few tasteful ones, but they were in places that were not normally visible. She claimed they had meaning for family and emotional reasons. They didn't bother me, but I'm also 28 so they are more common for people my age.

Personally, I don't have any. I haven't found anything that I've wanted to be permanently on my body.

Most people that I see with tattooed faces look like they are gang bangers. To each their own. Do I judge them? Yep I do. Now normal tats on the arms are pretty much accepted nowadays. I don't have any.

My 35 yr old step-son told me bare or completely tattoo-less skin is now vogue with women and the tattoo removal business has really cranked up recently.

Most people who get them in highly visible areas of the body do it for attention anyway.

Face tattoos are completely ghetto. I have seen more than a few parents all tattoo'd up, including their faces at the previous school district I worked at. It was a rough area, with a high percentage of poverty and ex-felons. Those tattoo'd freaks had no intentions of finding a job. And, their kids typically had behavior problems at school.

I always felt that they purposely tattoo'd crap on their faces so they would never have to work. Or, they had serious mental health issues, or both. That's my take on facial tat's.

People who get Face Tattoos know full well that the world sees it as the mark of a "Gangsta". In a lot of cases the person actually isn't, just an aspiring criminal. But things always work out in the end, as my Momma always said.

Since the job opportunities, although greater than zero, are less than the number of face tattoo'ed potential job seekers, they eventually become self-fufilling. Its as if you were looking to be incarcerated even before you could think of a crime to be caught at.

I dont see the problem. Face tattoos are very useful to " normal " folk. I was shopping with my wife and saw a biker looking guy with a Swastika on his cheek! I bet that goes over well with HR people. :-) I kept a close eye on the guy until we left. Think of facial tattoos as a flag that says " I make poor decisions and/or am a whack job "

I have a face tattoo. My arms are covered too. Have a few on my legs. I work full time. Have a kid wife renting a house 2 cars. I think im doing good. Im 22. We just hired a 20 year old. Full sleeves and lots of hand tattoos. This was his first job and hes a great worker. Im sorta the current generation and tattoos are normal now. Weird haircuts are normal now. Its what fasion is turning into imo. Trends and fasion change. I think most of you are a little behind in todays times. What i mean by that is go to a current school/high school everything is different from “the good old days”. Well you probaly cant hang around a high school theyd think your a person with no good intentions lol but you get my point? Look at all these newer singers/entertainers. There covered in tats face to toes. Its becoming normal imo. I also have gauges in my ears. Just recently i had a man in his 60’s yell at me when i was grocery shopping. He yelled “whatd you do that for?” I kinda look around and he says “no you im talking to you” then he says “ if god wanted those holes in your ears he would've put them there.” I smile and carry on. Im not gonna argue with some old man stuck in his days.

Gang facial tattoos are not so good, a Moko here in the land of tattoos is almost normal. I'm the only guy at work without a tattoo, one of the guys has a facial, and the service manager has one on his neck, and his ears too...and a sleeve. The owner of the business has a tattoo, it's acceptable in our culture.

that's my thoughts too. I have seen some really meet ones that can be covered up though.

The face ones IMO just look trashy.

Agreed. To each their own but I dont feel the need to express myself in that way. Just not for me.

You are way out there by yourself on some Bell curve.. face tattoos on people who would otherwise be considered a normal part of society are not normal.

If you're taking your cues for "normal" from entertainers, you're in for a lot of disappointment...

Let's hope, for your sake, that face tattoos and gauges are a more persistent fashion trend than, say, parachute pants....

You should've read the enthusiasm and defense of those "back in the day". Sounded a lot like, well, your arguments above.

I was behind the times when I didn't buy parachute pants, of course, and clearly out of fashion wearing those terrible old 501 Levi's. So "old". So out of touch.

Had I followed the trend back then, however, my mistakes would have been relegated to my closet (and probably Goodwill) and not on my face forever.

She has already demonstrated an ability to make a decision she will later regret!

That's a hard one to be "judgmental" about. Function over form.

A moko if you're Maori makes sense. And it's cool.

But a moko on a pretender looks silly...
