Face tattoos

My girlfriend currently has a half-sleeve of Halloween themed tattoo’s… Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Scene, Jack-O-Lantern and planning doing more. She lives/breathes Halloween! It’s somewhat of our thing and has a big meaning to her with her growing up, her dad, etc… Not just some random artwork. She is planning on finishing the sleeve soon with more Halloween mementos.

I personally like tattoo’s on women when done tastefully. Not the ‘tramp stamps’, poor quality work and all that.

Face tattoos are a big no-no for me though… Also, back/torso/chest as well… Thankfully, she feels the same! Arms I am perfectly cool with, though. I’d get tattoo’s when/if I think of something really meaningful and such… But I’m yet to commit to anything of the sort.

If I was hiring people, tattoo's would have ZERO influence on my decision. I have worked with plenty of amazingly smart, awesome people loaded with tattoo's in the engineering field, from medical to aerospace. Character and experience is what matters.

My Grandfather had a tattoo on his forearm applied during his WW1 military service. By the time he was in his sixties, it was just a big blue blob. I wonder how modern tattoos will hold up over 50 years or so.

Depends on the quality of work. The size/detail,application techniques and how the tattoo was cared for over the years all influence that. Some will look just fine, others will look terrible. You don't want to skimp on quality with tattoos by going to a cheap shop, that's for sure.

A nursing home worker once told me that the employees get a good laugh from the old residents who have tatoos that have bleed out and have lost their definition.
Around here, most of the people who have tatoos are the ones who don't have any money. But I guess they had money for tatoos.

I dont care about tattoos in general, certain smaller ones are veyr sexy on women, to each their own, but a face tattoo better be something you will be ok with for your life. At least the others can be covered up, but youre pretty much branding yourself loud and clear with whatever youre putting on there. Im 35 now, there were tons of things I was "in love with" 10-15 years ago, and thank god I never put anything like that on my body. So many of my friends in high school (class of 01) did tribal, chinese lettering, the swallows on each shoulder, and 15 years later theyre just tacky and outdated. Now imagine that on your face. Almost like still wearing your JNCO jeans , Co Ed Naked t shirts, and chain wallets, so popular at the time, but look at them now and see what you think. These awful rappers like Post malone and Lil Pump are popularizing that awful trend, but soon enough itll pass and be forgotten, like their short musical career. Normal tattoos are ok but a face tattooo would make me think twice about hiring someone at my shop. I also think they bright colors will never make it 10-15 years, and wll need constant attention to keep fresh but it will most likely just run and fade into a mess.

Tattoos, ANY tattoos are stupid with a capital "S". On women multiply that first sentence by 10. I'm 65 years old, and I have never met anyone with a 20+ year old tattoo who doesn't regret getting it. Ask yourself if you have EVER seen a good looking 20 year old tattoo on anyone? I never have. Your skin changes. Especially when you get older. The detail disappears, colors fade and run into each other, and it all looks horrible. In a Sun soaked climate like Arizona, this will happen faster, and worse.

I can guarantee you that every one of these young, idiot girls you see running around with all of these tattoos, are all going to regret getting them when they get older. And older women who are getting them are doing it because most of them can't get attention any other way. The sad part is today you see some very beautiful and attractive girls who have literally destroyed their bodies with this stupidity.

I've known younger guys that won't go near any woman with a, "tramp stamp". If I was single and in my 20's today, I wouldn't either. In all of my years, I have never talked with, or have heard of a single employer who isn't completely turned off by them. I've known many employers who simply would not hire ANYONE with a tattoo. And I don't blame them.

The best place I ever worked at in my life would not hire tattooed people. Again, I don't blame them. You can call that "discrimination", or anything else you want. But the fact remains if you choose to sport tattoos, you are handicapping yourself in the world of employment. Anyone who say's or thinks differently is only kidding themselves.

And if someone is stupid enough to go as far as to want to look like a MS-13 member, or an outlaw biker, then don't blame people or employers if they reject you. Because they will. Many won't admit it, but it's not going to change their attitude toward tattooed people. Today with background checks, mandatory drug testing, and the Internet, it can be harder for people then ever before to get a good job. Why add some stupid looking tattoo to make matters even worse?

Just reflecting the BITOG demographic probably.

What I don't understand about tattoos is this: we change clothes, hair styles, cars, houses, jobs, spouses, locations, hobbies, maybe even beliefs, but tattoos are in theory forever. Every member of my family including several young ladies who has gotten them regrets it.

LOL, I was just thinking the same thing. Except, the modern, in vogue terms are diversity and inclusion according my HR department.

That's true. Years ago it took a person who was impaired by alcohol, to make the same decision as a young person does today with a clear head. The dumbing down of America continues.

^ Pretty much my sentiments as well ^

Can someone give me an idea of what a tattoo costs? I honestly have no idea. I ask this because, in my opinion, most individuals I see covered from head to toe in tattoos don't appear (again, just my perception) to be financially comfortable. I really don't care what one does with one's self unless it affects me or my family. Supporting someone with my hard-earned money via taxes for things like Welfare, Food Stamps, Unemployment Insurance, etc... because of poor choices they choose to make should not place their burden upon me. I'm not an uncaring person, I would rather my resources (taxes) go to those that try to help themselves. Before the flaming starts, I know there are some very productive, tattooed individuals.

My wife has 3, her best friend is covered in tattoos...neither has any regrets.

Im pretty sure a high quality artist would be like 100$+ per hour or more, and some larger pieces can be easily 30 hours of work. Like anything else, you pay for quality. Im sure you can go to a dump and get a small black single color for 50.

Same, wife has a few and lots of my friends male and female have them. I personally have none, and I don't plan to get any -- but I like them.

If I go out to a restaurant and see someone with a face tattoo I loose my appetite immediately. It is absolutely disgusting. Just IMHO.

The good thing is when bad guys with their stupid face tattoos get caught on camera doing their thing they usually get caught within 24 hours in my neck of the woods.

Someone lives their lives differently and doesn't follow manufactured American standard? They must be scum.

The echo-chamber is real here

Tattoos only look good on a person that is in the military (the infantry style jobs / Special Ops) , rock star, or outlaw biker gangs.

I see teens as young as 15 with tattoos trying to act like bad [censored].
