Its time to address the oil leaks on my 2012 F150. Does anyone know if the 3.7 oil pan can be removed with the engine in the truck? 2wd

Im going to replace the oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket, and going with Motorcraft valve covers, the aftermarket ones always leak. Tired of leaving oil spots everywhere I park.

I googled your issue and AI sayd yes, but the engine will have to be lifted up.

We have a 2014 F150 3.7 2WD so I'm interested in what turns up. Never had the engine pan off but did the transmission pan & fluid (5x drain & fill).

My son won’t work on pickups too much without lifting the cab off anymore. He says that once you’ve done a couple, it takes no time to lift a cab.

I believe that and have experienced the same. So many jobs can look daunting if you've never done it before or seen it done, but once you get through it, it gets easier and faster.

Was doing service on an old Porsche 911 and the instructions were to drop the engine & transmission. At first that seemed crazy to me as I could see how the job could (possibly) be done with the engine in. After disconnecting all the lines it was only four bolts to drop the engine. Job got done, engine back in, easy peasy. The time saved might not have been that much but the ability to get the work done was amazing with the engine out. Plus, since everything is accessible, you can take care of other little jobs "while you're in there" with no effort at all. Would recommend.
