F150 Ecoboost oil change interval

I was not an EB fan going in, as I believed the hype between what the engine realistically could do and what the auto press was printing was too great.

After reading posts here (and others) I see the actual day-to-day performance of the engine, I think it's a great idea that in years to come will become even better.

Having personally dealt with Ford for several years as a go-between the customer and the manufacturer however, I can tell you in all likelihood, you're "written history" of visits and or complaints will get you not one extra day or mile of powertrain coverage regardless of it's complexity or compelling readability.

Since I have 2 of the same trucks, one with EB, and one with a 5.4L, I'm in a great position to post which one I prefer.

I prefer the 5.4L V8. Hands down. It's smoother, plenty powerful, and it actually has better low end torque and far better throttle response.

I was "in love" with the EB's power, that's for sure. But the EB engine does not have a pleasant sound, and after a 4000 mile road trip, it's qualities are getting on my nerves.

In six plus decades, I've never heard any non-V8 that had a pleasant tone...

I actually have the opposite feeling. The reason I have my 2011 EB is because my 2010 5.4 was wrecked. I find the EB power and fuel consumption much better than the 5.4. Also there is no comparison when towing, I feel that the EB is one of the best gasoline engine I have ever owned for towing. I find your low end torque comparison puzzling. Not that I have anything against the 5.4, I would have been happy with mine for years had it not been damaged.

It's not unpleasant, but it's surprisingly quiet considering it's power.

I've got 17,000 on mine, and agree with the positive posts about torque...I have 4x4 3.55 gears...tow a 7500-8000lb. boat/trailer combo and does great!...low revs and ave. 11-13mpg...not towing in the hills of tenn. had plenty of power in the largest hills, and revs stayed low (Usally no more the 3000rpms)...my old vehicle 2004 Hemi Durango would downshift and SCREAM up those same hills!!!!
