It reminds me of restaurants with great food shutting their doors and cant stay in business but the restaurants that make not as good food as the other restaurants are full fledge in business and always full of people. :O

Good for them. Businesses are in business to make profits. We pay a lot less for gas than most countries in the world. XOM also pays a lot in taxes so the Gov. should be happy.

+1

How can this be?

"Worst economy since the depression"?

Sounds like the government and other businesses need to learn how to do something correct.

We pay less for gas (for now) because they have not taxed it to death here yet...

Don't worry, Mobil will be having problems soon and they can get in line for a bailout.

Is that really you, buster?

Let's have XOM fail so that may be bailed out.

Good for XM. It's great to see an American company making money and producing a product we all need very much.

Americans have several good options when buying Ford and GM.My youngest son went through the Honda obsesion in the 90s and found nothing but trouble. Many breakdowns and parts were through the roof in price. He now drives a 04 F150 and a 06 Exp. with no problems at all.

That's great for him, but I will never own a American car.

My 1996 Merc GM has 205,000 on same engine & transmission.

Maybe ExxonMobil, ConnocPhillips, Shell, BP, etc. should buy out the Big 3! Seems like a good fit and saves the US taxpayer a bit of cash.

That's great! It's just that I or my parents have never owned a American car so it will be very hard for me to switch over. Plus all of my friends who owned American cars ran like junk.

XOM could buy into GM or Ford, and in return, Mobil 1 or Mobil Clean 5000 in for factory fills.....should help them both out...
