extended use on a purolator pics

This filter came off of a Chevy Blazer 350. Unsure of the age or mileage, but it is a Purolator, and look how full the filter element is, not to mention the sludge everywhere.


My blackberry doesn't take the best pics, sorry all I had access to.

Just drizzle some MMO over it, glue the ends back together, and pop'er back on. All will be right as rain.

Its funny i just looked at the oil in my 99 Corolla and said to myself i have to change that, it has 5000 miles on it and i saw some dirt in the oil on the dip stick it is a purolator classic with pennzoil 5w30
think i should worry? I just put a cup full of Marvel mystery oil in the oil and will change it this week

That looked alot worse than the 25,000 mile Fram, Iam not sure if that is good or bad. I use Purolators.

There is no way there is anything wrong with that filter. In reality it prob help up pretty well. The owner must have just never changed the oil and added it as needed I'm guessing. It is a 350 Chevy which you could pretty much get away with never changing the oil as long as you keep oil in it.

I do not believe panzerman was saying the sludge was the filters fault.

Looks to me like the filter did its job, but the owner didn't do his.
