extended drains with motorcraft filters

anyone use motorcraft filters for extended drains?
the factory says they will go 5k so i bet 7k would not be hard at all. any opinions?

The factory says the 2011 Mustang can go 10,000 miles. I would imagine that means Motorcraft filters are good for it.

I used my last FL-820S for just under 16,700 km (10,438 miles). Not a single problem.

7 k is fine, just make sure you get the updated 'S' filter..it has a silicone seal for extended use.

Not all Motorcraft filters are made the same. For instance: Some have silicone ADBVs - some have nitrile. You failed to mention the Motorcraft filter part number for your application.

The key to long OCIs with the same filter is a clean engine. Since I only use Mobil 1 oil my engines stay very clean and I have used MC filters on several occasions. My Fusion uses cartridge filters and the prevous OC I used a MC filter. After 10K the filter was still very clean.

When I punched a hole in it at the shop to take a peek, the media was still in good shape.

But I didn't have any rattles at start up, oil pressure problems, etc. associated with a bad filter.
