Experiences with Magnaflow cat cons?

I used their spun hi-flo cats for a while in place of a pair of resonators on my 328Ci post supercharger install and I was quite pleasedwwith them. They only cost me a handful of HP, only noticeable on a dyno, and significantly out flowed the stock Euro cats while keeping emissions well within check.

I am actually going to be putting them on my 06 M3, as the current Supersprint V1 Stepped headers into Akrapovic Titanium header-back exhaust has provisions for downstream cats (but I've just been running the Ti test pipes).
I am planning to dyno before and after, but as we don't have emissions testing here, I can't readily get those numbers.

In the 6.1 community the Hi-Flow cats have had many failures.

Sometimes they are warranted but mostly not, due to the rich mixtures often found in hi-po applications. They simply overheat and burn out, sometimes collapsing internally.

That sounds nice, but does the car pass smog tests with them?

^^^Same experience as a lot of the long tube users in the LSx community.

(Yet ANOTHER reason I want to keep emissions legal manifolds/catcon downpipes.
