Wife left the dome light on in my Jeep Cherokee from around midnight till eight this morning.I went out and turned it off...waited 20 minutes and the thing fired right up like nothing happened! This an Canadian Tire Eliminator battery made by Exide.
My wife does this all the time with the Ody - drives me batty. Starts all the time though with krappo stock battery. The little lights don't really draw much current. I don't expect this to harm battery life.
Should be Ok, but I would stick it on a trickle charger over night to ensure that a battery is at full charge. A slower charger over several hours will do more good as this may have discharged it a bit and the batteries that are discharged beyond the regular starting of the car do not get fully recharged by a high current alternator.
Dont your dome light cut off after a while. Even in my truck, if I leave the dome light on it cuts itself off after 10 minutes with out the key on. Matter of fact it does that with any light that is left on.
