Hoping somebody might have some insight into how to fix this. This is the left side exhaust manifold on the 1947 Lincoln. Dad had pulled the engine not too long ago to put a new clutch in, and evidently put new gaskets on the exhaust couplers. That's great, but the left side is leaking despite tightening the nuts. I tried to get a picture, but looking at it with the mirror, it's like the flange is bowed. I can slip a razor blade in to center of it, and I can certainly feel the exhaust spitting out from it. Now a new y-pipe is $$$$. Is there a simpler way of filling the void? Key thing is I don't want to glue it together permanently; I'd rather find something that would come apart again, but I don't want some of the exhaust filling up the engine compartment. Would snipping the ends off another gasket to make it round and using it to fill the void work?

I have resurfaced the flange by laying a bead of brazing around the hole and then grinding and filing the surface to flatten it.

Thanks all, I'm thinking I'll just have to drop the y-pipe and eyeball the flanges. Strange thing is the left side has the spacer you can see, but the right side does not have a spacer. The service manuals don't show a spacer on either side. The Ultra Copper stuff looks like it might be able to scrape off if it ends up not working, but I live near Summit Racing and they have the Remflex gaskets.
