Exceptionally long drive through lines .

I see long lines for fast food places (especially dunkin) around here all the time. Most of these places have empty parking lots- my coworker and I sometimes stop for an iced coffee during lunch, and we can walk in, order, and be back in the car in the time it takes 2 or 3 cars (out of a line of 10+) to move through the drive-through.
At Tim Hortons, the odd time I can walk between the cars in the drive thru line, get my coffee inside and walk between the same cars that haven't moved!

I tend to walk in anyways, even if there is no line, as usually I could use a walk and a stretch during a long drive. If I'm near work or home, I just wait until I get there for a coffee.

I used the drive thru at In-N-Out once, because it was late and the only option.
I object to drive thru on environmental grounds.
People too lazy to park and walk in, idling their cars needlessly polluting the air we all breathe.
What? Me Judgmental? Nah!
And some people wonder why America is so fat.

Local Macdonald's manager about 2 years ago, when i asked about the lack of staff to serve walk-ins and Eat-in customers just very bluntly told me that literally 90-95 % of their business was a the drive-thru, that's where they concentrate staff, dine-in customers are considered low priority. Now I imagine that door-dash and other delivery services are also a significant part of the drive-thru priority. Apparently catering to the laziness is their prime directive. At least I know my value to them.

Isn't it called In-n-Out? I would expect fast service and nearly no line to be the key component of that business model. :ROFLMAO:

It’s almost always faster to go inside and get your food than going through the drive thru. Plus there’s less chance of getting your order messed up if you go inside. Not to mention that I hate unnecessarily idling my cars.
Just be careful which spot you pick....you can get blocked in by that long line.

Cry harder. 😭 During the afternoon commute and on weekends, the drive thru line starts past the corner of Tracy Blvd. and Clover. Add to that the traffic trying to enter I-205 eastbound (first right after Nations). My personal worst is +25 minutes in the drive-thru. BAH. I rarely go to In-N-Out anymore. Thank God we don't have a Chick-Fil-A.

I don’t have that problem here, I never park somewhere that might be blocked by the drive thru line. I like to park further away to get extra steps anyway 😃

There is literally no fast food that i would wait at a drive-thru more than 10 minutes for. We occasionally go to a local Philly Cheesesteak restaurant that is dine-in only, they are in a small strip mall with no room or place for a drive-thru. Yes, you do have to wait in line ,place your order and actually watch them grill & prepare your sandwich in front of you, usually goes pretty quickly and the food is excellent, definitely worth the wait. Real Philly Cheesesteak with onions, mushrooms and cheese Whiz, also fresh hot fries also with Cheese Whiz, just like downtown Philadelphia without the hassles. Yup, it's an entire week's fat, cholesterol and calories all in one delicious serving. If you tried to eat it in your car, you'd need a professional detailer to clean up.
