Everest Motor oil

They had some oil flagged by the PQIA. Later they invited the PQIA to test their oil and visit their facility and at this time they passed inspection. It's available near me at a rock bottom prices and I have tried it. Their syn blend gave me the most wear metals I have seen to date although I really shouldn't judge them on just one test.

Why in the world would anyone try to break into a crowed market with, at best, a middle of the road product. And against brands that have been around for over a 100 years... Seems goofy to me.

Not sure. However, it's not that difficult to simply buy a base oils from one of the majors, an additive package from Lubrizol or BASF, and just blend according to a recipe. I believe it might not even require a specific set of tests if the additive company has already done it.

Their corporate information says that they bought a Conoco Phillips plant in Illinois. Probably made them much bigger.

I looked up the address of the plant. Seems reasonably big to me.

Pretty obvious they're doing it on price. They might not even be developing their own oil, although it wouldn't be unusual if they had their own testing facilities. Their corporate info claims an annual production of 20 million liters of finished product, so they likely can't afford to do much marketing or even development.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is an API certified oil. How would this oil be any worse for your engine than other API certified oils?

Why did Wal-Mart introduce a new line of motor oil (Prime) at Sam's Club that isn't Supertech?
